Happiness is simply a state of mind.. It doesn't mean we can instantly heal the severe physical or mental pain rather it is to our levels of happiness in our everyday life.
Words have a lot of power and influences both "The speaker" and "The listener". We sometimes choose words with "Negative Undertone" which makes us seem unhappy and even worse, After we have spoken these words our unconscious mind starts believing in them.
“If this is what came out of my mouth, it must be the way I truly feel”
So now, whenever someone asks you "How are you doing", Just reply "Am doing great/wonderfull/fabulous" or just a simple "Great" with a smile will work.
You will genuinely feel happier.. also your surroundings will smile too..

One of the best way is what i do.. "Make your problem a Joke & laugh it out with your friends" But always remember, everything is a life lesson. acknowledge it, and move forward.

You can only grow if you are willing to try something new. one of the biggest reason people stuck with their boring life is because the "Process is uncomfortable"
You have to step outside your comfort zone, at least for a little while & make "Regular" small changes.
Whatever your talent is (Singing, Dancing, Painting, Cooking.. etc) devote some time each day sharing your talents. and Make at least "3 People" smile everyday.
It can be anything.. dancing, singing, playing instruments, cooking, reading books etc. Not only can working on things you’re passionate about be immediately gratifying, but passion can keep you from quitting when you feel like there’s no end in sight.
Passion will change your life by pushing you forward through even the toughest of times.

The same philosophy holds true for making changes in your life. Making small, positive changes – eating a little healthier, exercising a little, creating some small productive habits, for example – is an amazing way to get excited about life.
The real winners in life cultivate optimism. They have the ability to manufacture their own happiness and drive. Don't be a follower.. be a Leader. Do what you think is Right, not what others.
